Worship Committee - Annual Report for Year 2007
Worship Committee has been busy creating and enhancing our services. Pastor Tyler's fresh ideas have made the committee's job challenging and freer to try new things.
New this year:
Pastoral team assisted with visits to shut-ins and hospital patients
Monthly communion was taken to shut-ins and hospital patients
We increased both use + participation with our hand bells
We added both persons and new music to Jr. and Sr. Choirs
We have a new monthly newsletter of services and dates
We held Lenten soup suppers from Ash Wednesday to Easter, on Wednesdays, with a study of the history of Lent culminating with a communion dinner and foot washing service on Maundy Thursday.
Our year long services included baptism by hands and immersion, new members, healing prayers, laying on of hands, puppets, guest speakers, "Stump the Pastor", special and moving Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve services and an amazing lakeside service and picnic.
We wish to thank, with a GIANT thank-you, our greeters, lay readers, communion servers, collection ushers, and acolytes who have volunteered this year. We also wish to thank the committees and individuals who have taken care of decorating the sanctuary, set-ups for the sacrament of Communion and the production of our weekly bulletin. We thank our Music Director, Choir members, Instrumentalists, Bell Ringers, and all the individuals who participated in sacred music ministry at our church.
God bless !
